Bates Haunt is a house that has been taken over by the spirit of Halloween. Giant singing pumpkins sing original songs along with flying ghosts and dancing skeletons in this unique family friendly projection based haunt.
We have won several national awards since our start in 2002, including the nation's best yard haunt. We've also been featured in various media including FEARNet and Good Morning America.
This is an updated audio version and cleaned up video of our previous song Grim Grinning Ghosts. Now in tune 😉
I really wanted a big production number for the 10th anniversary. After writing two other songs they just weren't big enough. I decided to do a cover of the song that inspired all the music in my show "Grim Grinning Ghosts". There are tons of arrangements of this song, so I decided I wanted to do a medley of some of the different versions. I love John Debney's score for Phantom Manor (the version of The Haunted Mansion at Disneyland Paris), so most of this is an arrangement of his arrangements. Credits go to John Debney, Buddy Baker, and X Atencio for the amazing original song and orchestrations. We recorded brand new ghosts and a (sorta lame) skeleton dance for this one all in the last 24 hours before Halloween (documentary coming soon).
The sections of the song correspond to the following Haunted Mansion/Phantom Manor Music:
Loading area of Haunted Mansion
Foyer of Phantom Manor
Caverns of Phantom Manor
Ghost Town of Phantom Manor
Exit music of Haunted Mansion
All the music was recorded in my bedroom closet with Garageband. With me singing the pumpkins, my daughter Ashley adding the ghost descant, and my daughter Cassie adding the "hurry back". The visuals were all created in Photoshop and Adobe Premiere.
