Haunted Huntsville is a real historic jailhouse. No props, costumes, make-up or jump-scares here. We don't engineer or fake anything. There simply is no reason to artificially create anything. This is the real deal. Paranormal is Normal for us.

This is a very small intimate experience in a real haunted jailhouse. Best group size is 4 to 8 people per experience. All Paranormal equipment provided for the Guided Paranormal Experience and the Cemetery Crawl. However, feel free to bring your own equipment as well. Paranormal Teams, bring your kit. You can also supplement from the kit of our own team, The Cellblock Specters.

This jailhouse, located in Walker County Texas was the 3rd Walker County Jail. Built in 1935, it was actively used for both Walker County and the City of Huntsville, TX until 1979. The land itself was also used for the 2nd Walker County Jail, built 1876. There are so many reasons why our location is so active. (See below for more information).

The first floor is used for our coffee shop & bakery, Cellblock Sips & Bakery. The Cellblock Crew and many of our guests experience paranormal activity. If something as simple as an EMF meter is activated in our building, it is highly likely that you will be joined by one of our downstairs residents. Guests are known to bring in their own paranormal equipment to turn on while enjoying a pastry and custom elixir.

When we visit the cells, the activity only increases. Our upstairs residents tend to be less genteel than our downstairs residents.

If you choose to join us for a stroll through Oakwood Cemetery, be prepared with colorful, individually wrapped candies. The Cemetery Guardian and many of the lingering spirits know us well. We have been called back to graves to leave a sweet treat.

Bookings can be made directly on our site. Guided Paranormal Experiences are available year-round. Paranormal Investigation Teams are welcome to conduct private investigations. Additional Guided Paranormal Experiences are also available in the local historic Oakwood Cemetery, resting place of General Sam Houston.

More reasons why we are truly haunted:
On this same land, the 2nd Walker County Jail was built in 1876. The 2nd Walker County Jail was used until the mid-1930s when it was torn down and replaced with the current 1935 building. While the 2nd Walker County Jail was in use, executions were performed in the fenced back yard of the 2nd Walker County Jail. Local historians have confirmed this to be accurate.

(1) This long‑standing system, in which counties performed hangings in their own facilities was replaced in 1923, when Texas passed a new capital punishment law that mandated as of 1924 that all executions be carried out by the electric chair and conducted at the Texas State Penitentiary in Huntsville TX. That facility is approximately four blocks away from our building.

The town of Huntsville TX is a very active haunted town. Our specific location falls in a small 2-3 block area of extreme activity due to the history of this town.

Come see for yourselves. There is nothing more convincing than when equipment sounds and lights illuminate in intelligent response patterns. If the residents are feeling talkative, EVPs and Spirit Boxes will prove their worth.
