Beneath its floors lies the dungeon, where eerie encounters are frequent. Visitors report feeling cold spots, hearing chains clank, and even having their clothes tugged by unseen hands. One visitor, Sam Jenkins, claimed that after touching a chain in the dungeon, he began experiencing the same dream of being shackled in a dark room—every night for over 20 years.
Venture to the Powder Magazine, an early 18th-century armory that stored weapons and gunpowder, making it a prime spot for residual hauntings. Apparitions of soldiers guarding the doors and the sounds of battle cries are common. In a chilling encounter, a young visitor once spoke with a ghostly teenage soldier whose uniform began to stain with blood as they talked. The specter vanished before help could arrive, leaving the witness deeply shaken Then we’ll learn about Philadelphia Alley, known as “Dueler’s Alley,” this narrow passage was the site of many duels in the 18th and 19th centuries.
