  • I think this haunt has to be the most underrated one I’ve ever been to. There’s something about this place overall that isn’t flashy, yet it just gets the job done as an overall fall destination.I love the entrance and midway with the three drums with the projected lights on them, it really sets the mood for the evening. And there’s something about nighttime at this attraction that just hits different from other places. Let’s start with the attractions:The Hayride - This Hayride is one of the best family Hayrides out there. It doesn’t go overboard with big animatronics like Bates Motel, nor does it have overly elaborate special effects of places like Field of Screams or Shocktoberfest. Its ride through the colonial town of Sleepy Hollow and its surrounding areas complete with a great appearance of the Headless Horseman himself. There’s some great moments where vehicles appear to come after your wagon, and the most interesting part of the hayride is how the wagons have cages on them. The actors climb on them and dangle leading to some excellent interactive encounters with them. This attraction is a solid B+.The Field - This is a solid corn field trail with one of the best trail atmospheres at any park, especially at night. Just like the hayride it’s not going to wow you outright like some places, but it’s just consistent and is a perfect complement attraction to the Hayride and Haunted House. Keeping with the them of a corn field in a haunted colonial town, there are a couple moments including laser mist that help elevate this attraction above the average local trail walkthrough. I’m always excited to see what they will do different with it each year. The House in the Hollow - by far the stand out attraction at Sleepy Hollow, and the one that on its own justifies paying full price for everything at this haunt is this haunted house. It’s unlike any other walkthrough I’ve ever been to. Instead of being filled with gore, animatronics, and jump scares this house is filled to the brim with incredibly immersive illusions and detail. There are several moments that just leave you sitting there going “that was AWESOME! How did they do that?” I cannot stress enough how much better this haunted house is than any other. Anyone that doesn’t think so is lying to you, trust me. With two solid complementing attractions, a stand out haunted house, and an effectively simple haunted farm vibe, Sleepy Hollow is an affordable visit that will make your fall a memorable one. You’ll be talking about the house here at every other hayride you go to, because it’s just that much different from the rest of the pack.
